The first Saturday of each month, Petaluma River Park team members will lead a walk and talk around the Petaluma River Park property. While the Park is open to the public from sunrise to sunset each day, this event gives you a chance to tour the property, learn more about our future plans, ask questions, and see how you can get involved.
El primer sábado de cada mes, los miembros del equipo de Petaluma River Park dirigirán una caminata y charla en las propiedades del Parque. When: The First Saturday of every month at 9:30AM
Where: Meet in the Steamer Landing Park Parking Lot
What: Casual walk & talk with River Park Team leaders (~1 mile round trip)
Parking: We suggest people park across the street from the Steamer Landing Park, on D Street (near Weller St.) or in the Petaluma Art Center parking lot.
What about the unsheltered encampment at the Park entrance? We continue to work closely with the City and Community partners to find a resolution grounded in compassion for all human experiences. We are hosting these monthly walks, in part, so that those who do not feel comfortable going to the Park on their own can visit the property together with us. Learn more
Good things to know before your visit:
all of the current access trails on the property are historic, unimproved, primitive and sometimes uneven paths; caution should be exercised in proceeding along such trails until they have been improved.
currently wheelchairs and persons with mobility issues not advised (future plans call for 2000ft of ADA compliant trails to connect with those on city owned Steamer Landing Park)
trash bins and portable restrooms are by the River Heritage Center and at Steamer Landing Park Lot
